  1. I'd like information on controlling the "Snake Weed" that is taking over our yard. Our geese or guineas aren't interested in it.

  2. I assume you have a weed that grows about 4 feet tall in an open sunny area, is multi-stemmed, and may have red, pink, or blue flowers, depending upon the species. The fruit is green with intermittent purplish lines on the sutures (somewhat resembles the design of a coral snake) and it has many fruiting stems without leaves.

If this is not a good description of the weed, please bring us a sample or call the office to get someone to come out and look at it. If it is a good description, and from your comment about your geese and guineas, I recommend you read the University of Florida IFAS Extension publication on "Weed Management in Pastures and Rangeland 2009." To view this publication, copy and paste the following web address in your browser: http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/WG006

Hope this helps, and should you need additional information, please let us know.

    Thanks for asking!
